QS APP
QUEERSPACE collective is proud to launch the QS App, a safe and secure virtual mentorship platform connecting youth ages 13-24 with trusted, affirming mentors ages 25+ and resources.
Built from input from Queer and Trans youth, our app is designed to reach youth nationwide, especially those living in rural communities or environments where affirming support is scarce. The QS App will be available in Google Play and Apple App Stores beginning October 1, 2026.

WHAT IS THE QS APP?
The QS App is QUEERSPACE collective’s virtual mentorship program, connecting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth with caring, affirming adult mentors through staff-supported chat.
WHY JOIN THE QS APP?
At QUEERSPACE collective, we believe connection saves lives. The QS App makes affirming mentorship more accessible, helping Queer and Trans youth across the U.S. build meaningful relationships with adults who understand their experiences and support them along the way.

HOW THE QS APP WORKS
1. Download the app → 2. Submit your application → 3. Get approved and create your profile → 4. Get matched → 5. Start chatting

Your application will include your name, pronouns, interests, what you’re looking for in a match, and a short selfie video.
QUEERSPACE staff reviews every application. Mentors also complete a background check, interview, and training before approval.

Approved profiles appear in suggested matches based on interests, identities, goals, availability, and preferences. Youth review mentor profiles and choose the person who feels right for them.

To become a mentor, you must:

Identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community

Be 25 years or older

Live in the U.S.

Connect with a mentee weekly for at least six months

Complete a background check, interview, and mentor training

No special qualifications are needed. Just a willingness to listen, show up consistently, and see the best in young people.

Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about building a genuine connection where youth can be themselves and know someone is in their corner.

Being Queer, Trans, or questioning can feel isolating, especially if you can’t talk openly with family, friends, or people at school. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

The QS App connects 2SLGBTQIA+ youth with vetted, affirming mentors who listen, answer questions, share their experiences, and support you.

To become a mentee, you must:​

Identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community or questioning (we welcome you wherever you are in your journey!)

SAFETY & PRIVACY
How do you help keep participants safe?
QUEERSPACE is committed to creating a supportive and affirming mentorship experience for everyone.
All mentees complete an application with a selfie video that our staff carefully reviews before accepting. Mentor must also pass an additional screening process that includes a background check, reference checks, online training, and interview with staff.
What happens if I have a concern?
Participants can report a concern about a mentor, mentee, or message directly through the app. QUEERSPACE staff review reports and follow up as appropriate.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does a mentorship match last?
Every mentorship relationship is different. Some matches may last a few months, while others continue longer. QS staff regularly check in to support both mentors and mentees throughout the process.
How often should mentors and mentees communicate?
We encourage regular communication and meaningful engagement, especially at the beginning of your match. Work together to set expectations, but we recommend connecting meaningfully 1-2x per week.
