Showing Up Matters: Become a Virtual Mentor

At QUEERSPACE collective, we believe something simple but powerful: connection saves lives.
For many 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, especially those living in rural communities or unsupportive environments, access to affirming relationships can be limited or nonexistent. Too many young people are navigating identity, school, family dynamics, and their future without a trusted adult who understands what they’re going through.
That’s why we’re building the QS App: a virtual mentorship platform designed to connect youth with affirming, trusted adults. This space will bring together youth, mentors, caregivers, and community partners to expand access to support.
Why Mentors Are Essential
Many of us can name a moment when having a supportive adult in our lives would have made a difference. This is an opportunity to be that person for someone else.
We are intentionally building a community of mentors before opening the platform to youth. Our goal is to ensure that when a young person joins the app, they are met with support—not a waitlist.
Mentors in this space are not expected to have all the answers. Mentors are guides: people willing to show up in the ways they may have needed when they were younger. This is about consistency, care, accountability, and being part of a broader, community-centered support system for Queer and Trans youth.
What to Expect
The QS App is planned to launch this summer, with mentor applications opening around that time.
All mentors will complete a structured onboarding process that includes an application, interview, background check, training, and ongoing support.
Join the Mentor Interest List
Right now, we are inviting people to sign up for our mentor interest form. This is not the full application, but a way to stay connected, receive updates on the QS App, and be notified as soon as mentor applications officially open.
If you’ve ever thought about mentoring, we encourage you to sign up today to learn more!
This work is collective. If mentorship isn’t the right fit for you, you can still play a role by sharing this opportunity with your networks—friends, colleagues, community members, and anyone who believes in showing up for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.
Every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and not alone. Join us in building an online community that makes that possible.
