Organizational Overview:

QUEERSPACE collective works with LGBTQ+ youth, the broader LGBTQ+ community and local organizations to create a strengthened support network and safer spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. QUEERSPACE collective activities include: 1) supporting LGBTQ+ youth through an intergenerational mentorship program focused on building healthy relationships, education and career pathing, and increasing self-esteem 2) providing community events to increase a sense of support, belonging, cultural identity and pride and 3) providing LGBTQ+ inclusivity training and consulting to corporations and other youth serving organizations to create space for LGBTQ+ to feel safe and empowered to be their true selves.


Founded in April 2021, QUEERSPACE collective is rapidly growing and seeks to hire a full-time Training Manager to provide leadership and management over QUEERSPACE collective training and consulting activities. The Training Manager will bring a youth-centric, racial equity and trauma informed lens to all LGBTQ+ inclusivity training activities. They will work alongside the Executive Director with a focus on managing existing and cultivating new partnerships with local, national and international youth serving organizations, coordinating training and consulting services, developing a variety of LGBTQ+ inclusivity training materials, onboarding and overseeing training consultants and facilitating in-person, virtual and hybrid training sessions. This is a new position reporting directly to the Executive Director.



Partnership Development - 30%

  • Develop new and cultivate existing partnerships with other youth serving organizations interested in providing LGBTQ+ inclusivity training to their staff and participants

  • Determine LGBTQ+ inclusivity training needs of the partner organization based on their industry, location and type of youth programming

  • Create training and consulting proposals based on the needs of the respective organization

  • Represent QUEERSPACE collective at internal and external resource fairs, events and gatherings

  • Participate in the development and implementation of organizational strategic planning

Training Material Development - 30%

  • Develop informative and engaging LGBTQ+ inclusivity training modules and materials for a wide range of audiences

  • Collaborate with consultants and staff to ensure training material captures current and evolving LGBTQ+ inclusivity language and themes

  • Research, recommend and implement new and engaging training methods and tools for both in person, online and hybrid training sessions

Training Coordination and Facilitation - 40%

  • Facilitate external LGBTQ+ inclusivity training sessions in-person, virtually and hybrid

  • Provide LGBTQ+ inclusivity consultative support to other youth serving organizations

  • Oversee onboarding and engagement of training consultants as co-facilitators

  • Manage organizational training schedule including internal and external training sessions

  • Evaluate training program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, observation and feedback

  • Maintain records of completed training and development activities, attendance and assessment results


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant experience OR associate degree and 7+ years relevant experience

  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding organizational and personal goals and objectives.  

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate a strong and compelling case for support.

  • An intimate understanding of issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community combined with a passion for and commitment to QUEERSPACE collective’s mission and vision.  


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work limited evenings and weekends as necessary. 

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, twist, kneel, and communicate. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.



Salary: $55,000

QUEERSPACE collective offers a flexible work environment with this position based in Minneapolis, MN and virtual. This position will require some weekend and evening hours, as well as local travel.
