Our Programs

QUEERSPACE collective was built on the foundation that we all have the right to show up as our authentic selves. The entire purpose of our existence is to “create space for LGBTQ+ youth to feel safe and empowered to be their true selves”, to provide resources to LGBTQ+ youth and their caregivers where very limited resources exist, and to raise awareness about the inequities faced by LGBTQ+ youth in our communities.

LGBTQ+ Mentorship

There are currently over 5,000 mentorship programs across the US with less than 10 focused on LGBTQ+ youth. QUEERSPACE hangouts, an initiative of QUEERSPACE collective, is a free youth-centric intergenerational mentorship program creating inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and LGBTQ+ adults to connect as their authentic selves.

Through in-person and virtual 1:1 mentoring and group events, LGBTQ+ youth develop increased self-esteem and a greater sense of belonging, cultural identity, and pride.

Building Community

Through monthly events like community art, nature outings, queer history, volunteering, and virtual hangouts, mentors and mentees build relationships, a broader sense of community, and feelings of inclusivity.

1:1 Mentoring

LGBTQ+ mentors are matched with LGBTQ+ youth based on youth voice, youth choice, and shared interests. Mentors and mentees connect weekly to hangout, set and accomplish goals, and build resilience through meaningful engagement.

Training and Consulting

With the rise of anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans legislation across our country, there is a growing interest from organizations and the community to provide safer and more inclusive spaces and programming.

Leveraging our expertise working directly with LGBTQ+ youth and the broader LGBTQ+ community, QUEERSPACE collective provides training and consulting to assist organizations looking to update their practices and policies to reflect their values.

QUEERSPACE collective supports organizations, corporations and educational institutions in their journey to be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ folks in their communities.
