Be a Mentor
Do you identify as LGBTQ+?
Are you committed to building a more resilient and proud LGBTQ+ community?
Do you have 8 - 10 hours per month to dedicate to the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth as they explore their identity and orientation?
As a volunteer mentor you will have the opportunity to hangout with a youth weekly in the community. Together you can grab a coffee, go for a walk, hang out a museum, play soccer or whatever is of interest to you both. You will support them in identifying and achieving goals and help build their self-esteem and a deeper sense sense of belonging, cultural identity and pride.
You will also participate in monthly hangouts with other LGBTQ+ youth and mentors. At these hangouts you'll do art, play games, dig into LGBTQ+ hisotry and other community building activities.
QUEERSPACE collective has partnered with local organizations and event centers to provide access to free events, museums and entertainment activities that you can do with your mentee.
We will provide transportation stipends as needed.
Based in the Twin Cities Metro Area

Note: We are currently seeking black, indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) and transgender & gender non-conforming people to meet the needs of the diverse youth we serve.
All mentors will go through a screening process that will include a background check, reference checks, and pre-match training.
