Position Title: Finance and Accounting Consultant

Organizational Overview:

QUEERSPACE collective works with LGBTQ+ youth, the broader LGBTQ+ community and local organizations to create a strengthened LGBTQ+ support network and reduce LGBTQ+ youth isolation, suicide and homelessness. QUEERSPACE collective activities include: 1) supporting LGBTQ+ youth through an intergenerational mentorship program focused on building healthy relationships, education and career pathing, and increasing self-esteem/ and 2) providing community events to increase as sense of support, belonging, cultural identity and pride.

 

QUEERSPACE collective launched in April 2021 and secured over $200,000 in revenue in its first year. We are rapidly growing and in need of finance and accounting support to ensure we are in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

• Review monthly Quickbooks transactions and monthly financial statements for accuracy

• Ensure Gusto transactions are being recorded accurately in Quickbooks

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

• Advise on local, state and federal reporting requirements

• Review current accounting processes and provide suggestions on internal controls

• Support the development of 2021 990 report and other reports as needed

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years relevant experience 

• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with and relate to diverse populations

• Proficiency with Microsoft Inuit required; proficiency with Gusto preferred
